2D1N Ban Gioc Waterfall & Mt Angel Eye & Valley Hike
SUMMARY
Besides bringing you to the most popular natural attractions in Cao Bang, such as Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao (Tiger) Cave, and Mount Angle Eye, this tour also gives you a full encounter with the local culture by bringing you to visit the traditional craft villages where you can witness the daily local life and the way they preserve the traditional craft things which are gradually losing of in the modern life. Additionally, you also can enjoy the quiet and calm beauty of nature by doing some short hikes in the region. We promise you won't disappoint.
Possibility to self-drive or to ride a pillion (behind a guide/driver). If self-driving, we recommend sound prior motorcycling experience.
Accommodation will be one night in an ethnic minority homestay.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: CAO BANG CITY - CRAFT VILLAGES – NGUOM NGAO CAVE– KHUOI KY VILLAGE
After some breakfast, we start driving out of Cao Bang city by making a stop at the unique Incense Village, where families have been crafting incense for generations.
We keep driving to Dia Tren paper village, if we are lucky, we have a chance to see the locals produce paper from “Duong” tree, their products are mostly used for spiritual ceremonies/decoration or painting, calligraphy.
Then we move to Phuc Sen Forging Village where we can see the craftsmen only forge crafts, mainly based on their long experience, from selecting materials, how to temper steel, and applying specific secrets to create products. Such as knives, scissors, hoes, sickles … of good quality.
Thereafter, we head straight to Dam Thuy commune, we find our lunch in the near-by area. After the lunch, we head to Nguom Ngao cave or Tiger cave. Once entering the cave, you will be amazed at strangely shaped stalactites. Nguom Ngao is home to multiple limestone chambers, floors, stairs, and corridors in various sizes, along with stalactites and stalagmites in diverse shapes such as a coral reef, a ship, a waterfall, an overturned lotus flower, and a terraced field. All give this cave magnificent and fantastic beauty.
Later we drive to Khuoi Ky village, check-in in a local homestay, have dinner and stay overnight there. (Day includes breakfast, lunch, dinner).
DAY 2: TRUC LAM BAN GIOC BUDDHIST TEMPLE - BAN GIOC WATERFALL - NGOC CON – Mt.ANGEL EYE - CAO BANG CITY
After having breakfast, we say thank you to the homestay family and head to Ban Gioc waterfall, the fourth largest transnational waterfall on earth that is between Vietnam and China, a significant sight of Cao Bang.
Thereafter, we drive to Truc Lam Ban Gioc buddhist temple, it is only 500m from the famous Ban Gioc waterfall. The temple is located on the Phia Nham mountain, it owns an amazing view over the valley and Chinese border.
Then we head to Ngoc Con valley, where we will do a hike to an amazing viewpoint of the valley. In this stunning valley, you will find impressive mountains with stretch out rice fields, picturesque villages of minorities and a calm, beautiful river running through it. Then we keep driving through Phong Nam valley to Trung Khanh town to find our lunch.
Later, we head Mount Angel’s Eye valley. This mountain is also known as Núi Thủng, meaning a mountain with a through-going hole, which is 50m in diameter and 50m above the ground.
The mountain is located in the heart of the valley between Thang Hen Lake complex of the Non Nước Cao Bằng UNESCO Global Geopark, which features a charming landscape with immense grasslands (in dry season) and green lakes (in rainy season). Then we head back to Cao Bang city, tour ends. (Day includes Breakfast, Lunch).
